The second line-up initially toured to promote the debut album 'Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow.'

The line-up also recorded the second album 'Rainbow Rising' and then embarked on a grueling seven month tour to promote it. With the combination of producing what is generally regarded as both the best album and tour the band ever did, needless to say most fans consider this to be the ultimate Rainbow line-up.
